An An angle i'd like to investigate further is the transformational nature of social media, and how we fuse ourselves with this technology not physically, but mentally through our habits. Taking inspiration from the lecture last week notably the section on prosthesis, I want to argue that social media profiles are a form of social prosthesis that we use that extends beyond ourselves into the digital world, explaining why we have an emotive response to our profiles. I feel this would link well with the first hand accounts of dating sites, providing a background as to the politics behind these interactions.
