I found this article on a man who raped 5 women through match.com. I thought it was good for highlighting the dangers of online dating and how vulnerable we can make ourselves when putting our information out online but also how we can manipulate our personal information.

Apparently four of the seven women he raped complained about him to match.com but they said they couldn't block his profile because he hadn't sent any "abusive" messages directly through it... Seems strange that they'd put the safety of their users at risk because of a technicality like that. It's obvious that dating websites have a huge responsibility to make sure their users are safe, especially from sexual predators. It's arguable that match.com and sites alike could do a lot more to ensure that they take the right precautions and security checks when allowing people to use their site as well as listen to the complaints they're getting. I read that apparently in 2014, 184 people reported being raped by someone they met online, up from 33 reports made in 2009.
